Get the most out of a good sleep: Eat well, play well, be well.

Getting enough sleep impacts education, work, health and wellness, yet most children, teens and adults don’t get enough. Sleep is important to feel well rested and so much more.

Join local sleep researcher and expert Diana McMillan, RN, PhD, and Mark Tremblay, Msc, PhD, CSEP-CEP, Chair of the Canadian Physical Activity Guidelines Committee and Chief Scientific Officer of the ParticipACTION Report Card, in exploring the role that sleep plays in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. This includes:

  • Learning about sleep and the circadian rhythm, recommended hours of sleep, and a review of how Canadians are doing when it comes to sleep.
  • Understanding how the lack of sleep is effecting children and adults and their physical activity, nutrition, and mental health.
  • Exploring strategies for helping children and adults make sleep a priority.

This continuing education event is for anyone who works in the area of education, physical activity, nutrition or health. Participants will learn the impact of sleep on health and wellness, understand how the lack of sleep is affecting children and adults and explore strategies for helping youth, parents and adults make sleep a priority.
