Everyday Carla brings a different, unique and creative sandwich to school and all her peers think it’s disgusting. By the following week she has to eat her lunch alone because no one wants to sit with her. It wasn’t until a boy her class named Buster, forgot his sandwich and would either starve or have Carla’s extra sandwich. Turns out to be the best sandwich ever and encourages everyone to try. The next day everyone brought a different, unique and creative sandwich to school.
What I Hope My Kids Will Learn: That it is okay to have fun with food. That we all have different tastes, likes, and dislikes. That it can be fun to be curious and experiment with new foods and tastes. That it is wrong to judge other’s food choices, likes, or dislikes.
